Terms of Use

Effective date: April 3, 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you and Illuminate LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), governing your use of Better Print at betterprint.app (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of the Service

Better Print is a web application that renders Notion pages in a paginated print preview with interactive page break placement. You can preview, customize, and print or save your Notion pages as PDFs. Better Print accesses your Notion workspace through Notion’s official OAuth integration, using permissions you explicitly grant.

Better Print is an independent product by Illuminate LLC and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Notion Labs, Inc. “Notion” is a trademark of Notion Labs, Inc.

3. Accounts

To use Better Print, you must create an account using a supported sign-in provider (Google, Apple, Microsoft, or email). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must not share your account with others or allow unauthorized access.

You must provide accurate information when creating your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

4. Notion integration

Better Print requires you to connect your Notion account via OAuth. When you do so, you authorize us to access your Notion workspace data (pages, databases, blocks, icons, and cover images) in read-only mode on your behalf.

We do not modify, create, or delete any content in your Notion workspace. You may disconnect your Notion account at any time from the Settings page, which immediately revokes our access and deletes your stored OAuth token.

Your use of Notion is subject to Notion’s own Terms of Service. We are not responsible for Notion’s availability, performance, or changes to their API.

5. Service tiers and usage limits

5.1 Free tier

The free tier includes all features with the following limits: 10 prints per calendar month, 20 printed pages per document, and a “Made with Better Print” watermark on printed pages. Printing the same document multiple times in a single day counts as one print.

5.2 Pro tier

The Pro tier removes all usage limits: unlimited prints per month, unlimited pages per document, and no watermark. Pro requires an active paid subscription.

5.3 Changes to limits

We reserve the right to adjust usage limits, pricing, or tier features with reasonable advance notice. Material changes to paid plans will take effect at the start of your next billing period after notice is given.

6. Billing and payments

Paid subscriptions are processed by Polar.sh, which acts as our Merchant of Record. Polar handles all payment processing, sales tax, VAT, and regulatory compliance.

Subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual billing cycle. Prices are displayed on the Upgrade page and are subject to change with notice.

By subscribing, you authorize Polar.sh to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

7. Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time from the Settings page or through the Polar.sh customer portal. When you cancel:

  • You retain Pro access until the end of your current billing period.
  • No further charges will be made after the current period ends.
  • Your account reverts to the free tier when the paid period expires.

Refund requests are handled by Polar.sh in accordance with their policies and applicable consumer protection laws. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact us at legal@illuminate.llc or through Polar.sh directly.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits, access controls, or security measures.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service beyond its intended use.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service without our written permission.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.

9. Your content

Better Print accesses content from your Notion workspace to render it for printing. Your content remains yours. We claim no ownership, license, or intellectual property rights over your Notion pages, text, images, or other content.

You are solely responsible for the content in your Notion workspace and for ensuring you have the right to print and distribute it.

10. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, code, logo, and documentation, is owned by Illuminate LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or other intellectual property beyond the right to use the Service as described here.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
  • Print output will be identical across all browsers, operating systems, or printers.
  • Notion’s API will remain available or unchanged.
  • All Notion block types or formatting will be supported.

Print rendering depends on your browser’s print engine. We provide a best-effort preview, but cannot guarantee pixel-perfect output in all environments.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Illuminate LLC and its members, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total cumulative liability for all claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

If you are using the free tier, our total liability shall not exceed fifty US dollars ($50.00).

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Illuminate LLC and its members, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party rights; or (d) content you print or distribute using the Service.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe your use harms the Service or other users.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy. If you have an active paid subscription, cancellation and refund terms in Section 7 apply.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. The unenforceable provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable.

17. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Illuminate LLC regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the “Effective date” at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you via email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms are posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
